Korean fashion brands have collaborated with international labels over the years. With their increasing popularity, these collaborative ventures have been widely successful. Following these successful examples, the collaborations have been expanding to include the sneaker industry.
Casestudy x Vans
Casestudy, a Seoul-based boutique collaborated with Vans to come up with a special sneaker. It is based on the Vans silhouettes of Style 36 and these kicks are called Style 36 LX and Era LX.
The new sneakers’ all-over print looks like the Vansโ iconic checkerboard pattern. In addition, both sneakers have the boutiqueโs signature color and logo. Both sneakers come in mustard shades combined with white. The white section is branded with the ampersand logo mimicking the Vans checkerboard pattern. The color and the logo combination give these sneakers a distinctive collaborative feel while still remaining true to the Vansโ silhouettes.

ADER Error x PUMA
PUMA and ADER Error have released a new collection โ โFaster than Youthโ. It includes a number of reworked sneakers and experimental apparel. Many of the classic PUMA silhouettes have been transformed with the ADER Error inspiration.
This collection references the youth culture that belongs to the fast-paced world of fashion. The collection includes sneakers (RS-1, RS-X, CELL, and Venom) with designs in black, red, and neon yellow along with some stitching detailing and rubberized logo patches. Some of the sneakers (Roma, RS-9.8, and CG) are more somber colored, brown and grey with an overall deconstructed appearance and caution sign tags and contrast stitching. It also features the lineโs signature color-blocking scheme with blue, orange, green, yellow and red hues.
POKรMON x FILA
Although the Pokรฉmon fever is long past, last year FILA launched a new collection of sneakers in collaboration with the technology giant Nintendo. All the sneakers are based on the FILAโs Classic Kicks B silhouette. As a rework, it has co-branding on shoe tongue and insole, and a complete overhaul to the packaging in the form of a Poke-ball theme.
Six different versions in this collection refer to the fan-favorite Pokรฉmon characters. These include Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Jiggly Puff, and of course, Pikachu. This collection was solely available in South Korea at the time of its launch.
