With the popularity of Korean fashion worldwide, new fashion designers are emerging every day in the Korean fashion industry. New brands are setting up shops to satisfy Korean fashion craving, especially streetwear and new designers like Minju Kim are emerging on the global platform!

Most emerging designers in Korea sell their collection in concept shops that are becoming popular in cities like Seoul and Busan. These stores offer curated collection, giving customers a museum-like experience. But, these new designers are not readily available online for international shoppers. Thanks to stores like RAREMARKET, access to such new collections has become relatively convenient. Other Korean fashion websites also cater to global markets allowing international customers to get hands-on latest Korean fashion.

Meanwhile, you can also check out the fashion labels that showed potential after the 2019 Fall-Winter shows in the Korean fashion industry.

Here are some of the emerging designers in the Korean fashion industry from the 2020 Spring-Summer shows.

Youser

Lee Mooyeol’s SS2020 collection was clean and purposeful, unlike his previous collections. Although it was presented on a black-lit runway, the collection did not have a techno-vibe. Each piece was cohesive with the complete look. The clothes are simple yet stylish enough to be worn by Korean fashion enthusiasts to show off their cutting edge looks.

MÜNN

Although the brand is known for its menswear collection, the SS2020 collection favored female models, adapting to move towards genderless fashion. The collection followed the brand philosophy of ‘luxurious defamiliarization’ by reimagining traditional Korean clothing items like straw hats into something maximalist.

Dozoh

For SS2020, Dozoh presented a Korean streetwear collection following Dozoh’s philosophy of developing autonomy in design without being bound by existing rules and routines. The collection includes loose hoods layered with prints and accents of colors for 2020.

KYE

KYE has been consistent with its excellent collections every year with some surprises and curveballs. The SS2020 collection clothing is designed for people who are not a fan of the tailored trend that is taking over Seoul. The collection is loud, colorful, and printed. It also helps that the brand is favored by K-celebrities, making it even more popular amongst the fans.

Minjukim

It is a contemporary women’s wear brand with a different concept story in each collection since the brand inception. The tale of brightness and bravery remains constant via the bold silhouettes and colors.
