Venus Labs brings Korean skincare expertise to your pocket—personalized plans, AI skin analysis, and global access to Seoul’s top skin coaches.
The world can’t get enough of K-beauty. From 10-step routines to glass-skin goals, Korean skincare has become a global aspiration. But for many outside Seoul, that dream is frustratingly out of reach. Too many products, too much hype, and not enough clarity leave consumers guessing — and wasting money.
Venus Labs, a Korea–US startup, is changing that. With its app Venus, the company brings Seoul’s top skincare coaches straight to your phone, combining expert human guidance with AI-powered tools. It’s like having a trusted Korean clinic in your pocket — wherever you are, in any language, and at any budget.
The Problem: Skincare Without a Coach
Skincare lovers often struggle with three pain points:
- Too many choices: Thousands of products, but little clarity on what actually fits.
- No personalization: Generic advice ignores skin tones, climates, and lifestyles.
- High barriers: Access to Seoul’s skin clinics has been limited to insiders or expensive trips abroad.
Venus Labs recognized this gap. As co-founder Jacob Han explains:
“I grew up with severe acne and scars, and after trying so many products and treatments, I finally found what worked for me. Korean skincare helped me feel like myself again. Venus exists to give that feeling to anyone, anywhere—without gatekeeping, without fluff.”
The Venus Difference: A Coach in Your Pocket
The app’s hero feature is the K-Advisor Review. Users upload a few selfies, answer lifestyle questions, and within 24 hours receive a Spotify Wrapped–style skin plan that includes:
- A full evaluation of skin and current routine
- Ingredient-level recommendations, explained clearly
- Affordable dupe suggestions across $ / $$ / $$$ tiers
- A custom treatment plan tailored to climate and goals
Beyond that, Venus integrates smart tools to make skincare effortless:
- AI skin analysis that tracks progress and adapts to weather/humidity
- Product scanning for unbiased ingredient breakdowns
- Curated product lists for every skin concern
- Celebrity routines you can copy instantly
- 24/7 Venus AI Chat that remembers your skin history
It’s science, Seoul expertise, and convenience in one.

A Company Built on Values
Venus Labs was founded by Korean-American entrepreneurs Jacob Han (CEO) and Jason Yun (COO), both with Silicon Valley product and design backgrounds. Their vision goes beyond skincare routines — it’s about inclusivity and confidence.
“Great skincare blends science with experience. We want to reshape the narrative of K-Beauty. We make expert-level care clear, approachable, and personal, so that no matter your skin type or background, users can feel confident in their skin.”
Jason Yun (COO), Venus Labs
The company is guided by values of integrity, innovation, inclusion, self-love, and anti-bullying — building not just an app, but a safe global skincare community.
Early Success and What’s Next
Venus Labs has already gained strong traction. With 3,000+ users in its first month on fully bootstrapped marketing, the demand is clear.
The roadmap ahead is ambitious:
- Expansion into Spanish and Arabic-speaking markets in 2025
- Launch into Southeast Asia soon after
- Scaling a growing team of Seoul-based coaches and global advisors
Affordable pricing keeps Venus accessible: $14.99 per consultation or a Pro subscription at $8.99/month ($59.99/year) for unlimited AI-powered features.
In Their Own Words: Founder’s Perspective
Q. Who are you building Venus for?
A. Skincare today can feel overwhelming—too many products, too many conflicting voices, and not enough clarity. We built Venus for Gen Z and young women who love K-beauty but want clear, decisive, and budget-aware guidance.
Q. How is Venus different from other skincare apps?
A. We bring real Korean coaches who make the best skincare secrets of South Korea accessible to the rest of the world. Our AI skin analysis is trained on thousands of images of various skin conditions, and our medical research team is currently working on three research papers that will be completed in the next year.
Q. What’s one metric you’re most proud of so far?
A. We’ve grown to over 3,000 users in just one month, entirely with bootstrapped marketing. This is just the beginning.
Q. What’s next on your roadmap?
A. We’re going to release our app to Spanish and Arabic speaking countries! Stay tuned.
